Dorothy M. King
Dorothy M. King, age 87, of Highland, formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Bloomfield Healthcare following a long illness. Dorothy was born on September 2, 1924 in Avoca to Charles and Leora (Sparling) Walton. She married Frank King Jr. on March 31, 1945. The couple farmed near Mineral Point in Lafayette County. After raising their family, they retired to Highland in 1983. Dorothy enjoyed traveling but her greatest joy was the time she spent with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; a son, James King; a grandson, Michael King; a granddaughter, Stacy Lee King; two great grandsons, Jeremy King and Jacob Kuhlemeyer; a brother Dick “Red” Walton and a sister Alma Banks.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Eugene) Gross of Mineral Point and Karen (Dean) Anderson of Edmund; five sons, DuWayne (Donna) of Wauzeka; Les of Highland; Michael (Linda) of Freeport, IL; David (Carrie) of Boscobel and Jeffrey (Cheryl) of Livingston; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell (Florence) Walton and Bernard Walton as well as many, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday July 21, 2012 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Rev. Craig Peach will officiate with burial in the East Side Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon.
