Dorothy B. Weske, age 91, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 24, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Stanley and Mary Krolikowski. Dorothy’s life was special for so many reasons, she was a loving wife to Bob and an incredible mother to all of her children. Dorothy’s ability to present any situation in a positive light was one of her many special attributes. If there was ever a woman whose personality we would like to imitate, it was hers.

One of Dorothy’s many roles in the Weske household was to keep her brood happy, safe and healthy. Dorothy and Bob were married August 21, 1948 and moved from Milwaukee to Verona, WI in 1964. The Weske household was often the gathering place for friends and family and Dorothy enjoyed gardening in the back yard and eating watermelon with her family in the screened porch.

In 1965, Dorothy and Bob started building by hand an A-frame on Diamond Lake in northern Wisconsin. This was a labor of love which brought the entire family together in their efforts. There, they spent their lives enjoying the North Woods with their family. Family vacations on Diamond Lake were filled with love and adventure; swimming and boating in the summer and sledding, skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Dorothy and Bob eventually moved to the North Woods to enjoy their retirement.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Allison (Brian) Anderson, Kathryn (Ralph) Bishop/Bob Arseneau, Edie (Scott) Fischer, Elaine (Jerry) Wendt, Bob (Jeanne) Weske, Sarah (Rich) Bergemann; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; Brother, Jerry (Arlene) Krolikowski; Sister-in-law, Peggy Krolikowski; and a loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Weske; her son, Robert D. Weske; her siblings, Eleanor Orlandini, Sylvester Krolikowski, Karl Krolikowski and Ollie Krolikowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, June 6, 2014 at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest, with Fr. Robert Butz officiating.
