Doris E. Hoskins, 91, of Richland Center died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Pine Valley Healthcare. She was born March 12, 1921 in Blue River the daughter of George and Elva (Cook) Waller. On November 25, 1939 Doris married Jim Hoskins. She worked at JCPenneys in the fabric department for many years. Doris enjoyed her garden, sewing, and having breakfast at the Center Café.
Doris is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Gregor) Neff of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Mary (Arland) Hess of Ithaca, 7 grandchildren: James and Nicholas of Dobbs Ferry, NY, William (Jill) Neff of New Jersey, Jonathan (Deborah) Hess of St. Paul, MN, Jennifer (Shawn) Shrader of De Pere, James Hess of Richland Center, Jeffrey Hess of La Crosse, 7 great-grandchildren: Zach and Amanda Neff, Joseph, Elizabeth, Anna Hess, Logan and Kaitlyn Shrader, brother-in-law: Wesley Calef of California, sister-in-law: Helen Waller of Watertown, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, sister Beulah Calef, and brothers Gerald, Theron, Ed Waller.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Alice Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The family suggests memorials in Doris’s name be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service of Richland Center is assisting the family with their arrangements.
