Doris E. Davies
Doris E. Davies, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2012 at Prairie Maison Care Center in Prairie du Chien, WI. Doris was born September 24, 1924 in Dodgeville, WI to Curtis and Hazel (Ladd) Hatch. She grew up in Wyoming Valley graduating from Spring Green High School. She married Richard “Dick” Davies on June 24, 1950 in Dodgeville and they shared 61 years together. They moved to Darlington where they began their family and moved to Beloit, Wisconsin in 1964. Doris worked in the library for the Beloit Turner Schools and was an active member of the United Methodist Church. Her main enjoyment in life was raising her children and participating in their many activities. In retirement she and Dick enjoyed camping, trips to Arizona and University of Wisconsin athletic events.
Doris will be dearly missed by her four children, Debra (James) Selmer of Minneapolis, MN; Diane Koth of Prairie du Chien; Dan (Ann) Davies of Janesville and David Davies of Las Vegas, NV: her nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Ashley and Cameron Selmer, Jeremy and Jennifer Koth, Brandon (Amber) Davies, Jessica Culver and Rachel and Christine Davies; three great-grandchildren; her sister Mary (Sam) Hutchison; her brother Roger (Helen) Hatch as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dick and son-in-law, Darrel Koth.
Special thanks to the staff at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Madison and Prairie Maison Care Center, Prairie du Chien for the wonderful, loving care she received.
Doris’ life will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Rom A. Pegram officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Dodgeville. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday after 9:00 A.M.
