Doris A. Esser
MIDDLETON-Doris A. Esser, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
She was born on August 26, 1960, in Madison, the daughter of Joseph and Christina (Kohlman) Acker. Doris was a 1978 graduate of Middleton High School. On August 20, 1983, she was united in marriage to Tom Esser in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Middleton.
Doris enjoyed helping out on the family farm and had a variety of interests including gardening, canning, flowers, and cooking, but she truly treasured most the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Esser; a daughter, Tami (Austin) Ripp and their daughter Emma; a son Brian Esser (special friend, Caitlin McCarthy); her siblings, Marilyn (Joe) Ziegler, Rose (Jim) Endres, Alice (Darrel) Hellenbrand, John Acker; her father-in-law, Gilbert Esser; in-laws, Jim (Sharon) Esser, Mike (Kathy) Esser, Carol Esser, Kathy (George) Brumm and other relatives and many friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law, Arlene Esser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, with Monsignor Douglas Duschak presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Ashton. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 4 PM until 7 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 and also on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
Doris was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
