Donnell D. Christianson

Donnell D. Christianson, age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, from kidney failure. He was born on June 7, 1935 in Mt. Horeb, the son of Olaf and Ella Christianson. Don served three years in the United States Marines. He was united in marriage to Esther Arlene Raisbeck on May 16, 1956 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Horeb. Don was a member of the American Legion 437 for 25 years. He was an owner/operator of a trucking business for years. He enjoyed wood working after his retirement and made beautiful jewelry boxes along with many other items. Don loved playing cribbage with the love of his life Arlene. He was a loving father and grandfather to his three daughters, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Arlene; his children, Connie (Mark) Handel of Mazomanie, Rhonda (Robin) Loger of Mazomanie, Darcy (Matthew) Stecklein of Mt. Horeb; his beloved grandchildren, Ashley (James Lovrek), Dylan (Mandi Payne & Trevyn), Theran, Devin & Dana Handel Lindsay (Aaron) Olson, Jonathan (Heather Wendt) and Mackensey Loger, Kaitlin and Zachary Stecklein, sweet little great granddaughter Lauren Olson and great granddaughter due in December; a brother, Daryl (Mary) Christianson of Mt. Horeb; sisters, Elva Jean Hanna and Kerry Doeringsfeld of Mt. Horeb, Rita Ammon and Terry Neesley of Milwaukee, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters and brother in-laws, Delores and Joe Howe, Gladys and Gilman Swenson, Claribel and Joe Spatola, Ann and Stanley Cairney, Glenn Hanna, Mike Ammon, Bob Doeringsfeld and brother Richard Christianson, sisters Nancy and Ruth, nephews Rusty Christianson and Larry Howe, infant niece Nina Spatola and niece Linda Spatola Godding.

Memorial services will be held at MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 10235 Highway KP, Mazomanie, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, with Pastor Dianne D. Vielhuber presiding. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
