Donna’s rhubarb barbeque sauce
This is a mild flavored sauce that beautifully compliments grilled chicken or pork.
1/2 tablespoon canola oil
1 small onion, finely diced 2 cups rhubarb, diced 1 tablespoon water 1/4 cup ketchup 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
In a small saucepan, heat oil. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add rhubarb, water, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Place over medium heat and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently, stirring occasionally, for 15 – 20 minutes or until rhubarb is tender. Serve warm over chicken or pork.
This can be made ahead and warmed when ready to serve.
