Donations to childhood cancer research gathered at Hope on Wheels

Patients and children affected by cancer got a chance to finger paint on something that’s normally off-limits Wednesday at the American Family Children’s Hospital.

They decorated a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe in colorful handprints through the nonprofit Hyundai Hope on Wheels.

The foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Two doctors received a $500,000 award for their research, involving targeted radiotherapy for pediatric leukemia, as well as new tools to fight childhood brain tumors.
