Donald R. Pfaff
Donald R. Pfaff, 67 of Wisconsin Dells passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home. Don was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on March 11, 1946 the son of William L. and Emma Jean (Baldwin) Pfaff.
Don came to Markesan to teach 6th grade at the Markesan District Schools January 21, 1968.
For several years, Don lead the 6th grade camping trip which was 2 or 3 nights of camping, learning, singing around the camp fire, etc.. It was always a lot of fun.
When class sizes started to change, Don started teaching 5th grade and continued until his retirement. All the students loved Mr. Pfaff. Don was an active member of the Teachers Association. Don retired from teaching in June of 2002.
Don tended bar at a number of places throughout his life. Don loved to go out for dinner especially where there was a ‘live’ band and he could dance the night away. He was a huge “Elvis Presley” fan!
Don loved his antiques and had a huge collection. He loved to go to antique shops.
After retirement Don moved from the Markesan area to the Wisconsin Dells area. He worked at the Antique Malls in the Dells area. He had several booths displaying his antiques.
He was a loving and caring person who had many friends in the Markesan area as well as other areas.
Don is survived by his brother Ted Pfaff of Lyndon Station, cousins and other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle, Edith (Aunt Toot) and Tony Sarnow, his cousin, Bernard (Bud) Walters.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston, where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
