Donald L. Carley, Sr.
Donald L. Carley, Sr., age 90, a longtime resident of Richland Center, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Riverdale.
He was born March 27, 1923 in Richland Center, the son of the late Bert and Catherine (Stoltz) Carley. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Don served with the infantry in the Army during WWII in Italy. He married Dorothy Mae Kittle, daughter of Henry and Dollie Kittle. They had three children and ten foster children. Don was very active in Cub and Boy Scouts. He worked many years for the Carnation Company until they closed. He then worked at Badger Ordnance until they closed, and finished his working career with Max Wiess Company in Milwaukee.
Survivors include His loving life partner: Dorlis Niesar of Muscoda, Two daughters: Susan (Albert) Rung of Mississippi, Deb Hartley of Burlington, Wisconsin, Two sisters: Catherine Clement, Jean McKinney of Wisconsin, Four grandchildren, Seven great grandchildren, Three sister in laws, two brother in laws, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 50 years; his son Donald Carley, Jr.; brother Wayne Carley; and sister Jane (Carley) Houseladen.
Visitation for Donald Carley, Sr., will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the GODAGER PRATT FUNERAL HOME in Muscoda. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Richland Center Cemetery at a later date.
