JANESVILLE—- Donald “Donnie” E. Flood, age 78, of Janesville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., Fitchburg with his family by his side. He was born in Janesville on April 4, 1934, the son of Edward and Julia (Murray) Flood. He graduated from Janesville High School and served in the U.S. Army. Donnie had been employed by General Motors, retiring after 40 years in 1992. He married Elizabeth “Betty” J. Liesz on April 29, 1967, in St. Andrews Catholic Church, Chicago. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1993. He had been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the UAW Local 95. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and working on his lawn. Donnie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan as well as a Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed chatting it up at the local donut shop with his retirement buddies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities was a very important part of his life.

Donnie is survived by his 2 daughters, Mary (Jeff) Furrer and Teresa Ennis both of Janesville; 3 grandchildren: Betsy Ennis, Sophie Ennis and Tyler Furrer; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son-in-law, Stephen Ennis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. Stephen J. Umhoefer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Lasting Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. or the Lewy Body Dementia-Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
