Dolores M. “Mickey” Brown, age 77, of Janesville, WI, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Checotah, OK, on Sept. 2, 1934, the daughter of Homer and Josephine (Lewis) Browning. Her parents moved during the Great Depression to California where Mickey grew up. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School and married William L. DeWorken, Jr., who preceded her in death. Later she married Robert S. Brown, who passed away in 1997. After living in Port Angeles, WA, for several years, Mickey moved to Janesville to be closer to her daughters. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. John Vianney Church.

Mickey, as Senior Regent, and her late husband, Robert S. Brown, as Governor, served as emissaries on behalf of the Moose Lodge in the promotion of benevolent activities throughout California and Texas. She took much pride in being active in civic and political affairs. Mickey was a very caring and loving mother, who was an excellent role model for her children and grandchildren of whom she was very proud. She was a wonderful cook, avid reader, and loved tending to her flower gardens.

Mickey is survived by her four children: Theresa (Todd) Ikard of Janesville, Kathryn (Dennis) Champagne of Marinette, WI, Dick (Veronica) DeWorken of Watsonville, CA, and John DeWorken of Santa Cruz, CA; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Jean Snow of Modesto, CA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents.
