DOJ: Man arrested during high-speed chase charged in federal court
James Kruger arrested after multi-county high-speed chase last week
MADISON, Wis. — James Kruger, 36, of Madison has been charged with being a felon in possession of firearms, according to a Department of Justice release.
According to a complaint, Kruger has a .22-caliber double-barreled firearm, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and a loaded 12 gauge shotgun Sept. 10.
Kruger was arrested after a multi-county high-speed chase. During the chase he allegedly kidnapped a hostage and stole two vehicles.
Kruger faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, according to the release. He also faces several charges in Iowa and Grant counties.
