Michels Corp. and more than 250 firms to bid
BROWNSVILLE, Wis. — A Dodge County construction company is one of more than 250 firms interested in building a wall at the US-Mexico Border.
The Fond Du Lac Reporter Newspaper reports Michels Corporation of Brownsville is the only Wisconsin company that has responded to the government’s presolicitation for bids to build President Donald Trump’s proposed wall.
Michels Corp. has worked on government projects in the past.
The company’s chief legal counsel, David Stegeman, declined the comment on the company’s interest.
The wall would span the 2,000-mile border with Mexico. And, it’s estimated to cost $21.6 billion. The government hopes to finish the project by 2020, according to a Reuters report.
