Doctor clears lawmaker to return to work
Rep. Larson says surgery removed all of his cancer
MADISON, Wis. — S tate Rep. Tom Larson said he’s been medically cleared to return to work following surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
A Chippewa Herald report said the Republican from Colfax found out he had a tumor on his kidney about a month ago. He had surgery June 4 to remove the tumor and kidney.
He said the surgery removed all the cancer, so he doesn’t have to undergo radiation or chemotherapy.
Larson said his doctor has cleared him to drive to Madison the week after the July 4 holiday.
He said he wishes he weren’t in the hospital while the budget debate was going on. He said he monitored the debate by watching Wisconsin Eye coverage, and that he would have voted for the budget if he were able.
