A disabled veteran has started up a nonprofit to help train jobless and homeless veterans for online work.

AnnaMaria Bliven is a disabled veteran who created Onward and Upward, a nonprofit that aims to help veterans acquire online employment to work at home.

The work center is located at 2040 South Park St. in Madison.

The employment skill courses are free for homeless and jobless veterans, Bliven said.

Bliven said she has 20 veterans registered for the first class, which is set to start Wednesday.

The course lasts up to 6 months.

The organization will give its participants the skills necessary to find an online job and work from home.

They also provide participants with a work space, a computer and money management mentoring.
