DEFOREST/MADISON/STOUGHTON-Diane Smyth, age 75, of DeForest, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1941, in Richland Center, the daughter of Oscar and Wilma (Flamme) Kidd. She married Edward Smyth on Sept. 1, 1962. Diane graduated from Madison General Nursing School. She worked as a RN from 1962-2006, retiring from Agrace Hospicecare.
Diane was a member of the Lioness, Lions, and the Democratic National Party. She enjoyed caring for people as a nurse and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Diane was very passionate about her political beliefs. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time with her nursing buddies.
Diane is survived by sons, Doug Smyth and Greg Smyth; daughter, Stacey (John) Tschida; sisters, Darlene (David) Norman and Dawn (Frank); and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; daughter, Kelly Provo; and brothers, David and Dale Kidd.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017. A celebration luncheon will be held following the service. Private burial will be held at Richland Center Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
