MADISON, Wis. — Detectives have developed probable cause to arrest an 18-year-old for robbery, after he was arrested earlier this week for having a gun at school.

According to an incident report, Tyrese Williams, 18, of Madison, is accused of pointing a handgun at two other teens after the victims picked him up thinking that Williams would purchase a small amount of marijuana from one of them.

Police said the three drove to the 1900 block of Post Road around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said Williams pulled out the gun and ran off with one victim’s backpack.

Williams was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly had a loaded gun in his backpack at Madison West High School.

He was later arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in a school zone.
