Deputies: Warm weather brings out 100 mph speeders
Some violators have revoked driver's licenses
MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Traffic Team says as it sees more warm weather days, it’s seeing more speeders, some going more than 100 mph.
The team said multiple traffic stops involving drivers going near or above 100 mph have been reported the last few days. In at least two cases, the driver’s license had been revoked and most did not have proof of insurance.
One man was recorded driving 108 mph Highway 14 near Lacy Road in Fitchburg. His license was revoked.
Excessive speed is one of the top three causes of fatal and serious injury traffic crashes, according to deputies.
