Deputies: Town of Middleton fire causes $300K in damage
TOWN OF MIDDLETON, Wis. — A large fire at an outbuilding of a landscaping company in the Town of Middleton Sunday evening caused $300,000 in damage, Dane County deputies said.
Dane County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Krista Ewers-Hayes said firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at A.L. Landscaping at 3624 Pioneer Rd. at 5:05 p.m.
The outbuilding housed landscaping equipment, including five Bobcat machines, she said. The building and equipment were considered a total loss.
Thick black smoke from the fire could be seen from the Beltline.
Ewers-Hayes said there were no reports of any injuries and the fire remains under investigation.
Pioneer Road was closed between Valley View and Mineral Point for more than two hours as firefighters fought the blaze. The road reopened just after 7:45 p.m., according to a tweet from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
