Deputies look to speak with jogger who was near area on day of Nicholas Day’s homicide

BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — Dane County deputies are looking to speak with a jogger who was near the area of Blue Mounds on the day of Nicholas Day’s homicide earlier this month.

According to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses said the man was possibly seen near Bergum Road and County Highway JG on Jan. 15.

Deputies described the jogger as a man with a full beard who was wearing a brown jacket with red striping.

Officials said the man is not considered to be a suspect, but investigators would like to speak with him or anyone else who frequently jogs in the area.

Detectives also want to speak with anyone who might have been working in the area, including delivery drivers, utility workers and construction workers.
