Deputies: Drunken driver nearly hit semi
Driver refused field sobriety tests, deputies say
MADISON, Wis. — A suspected drunken driver nearly hit a semi in a construction zone on the Beltline, according to a release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
A motorist reported seeing a silver Kia sedan traveling east on the Beltline near Monona Drive at 11:10 p.m. Sunday. The caller said the driver was weaving in and out of lanes.
A deputy spotted the car on East Washington Avenue and stopped it on High Crossing Boulevard.
Deputies said Henry Maue, 41, of Madison, refused field sobriety tests. He was taken to a hospital for a blood draw while deputies got a search warrant.
Maue was arrested on suspicion of fifth-offense operating while intoxicated and cited for operating after suspension.
