MADISON-Delores Genevieve Lindgren, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Oakwood Meadows.

She was born on April 6, 1931, in Otsego, Wis., the daughter of William and Susanna (Olson) Attleson.

Delores graduated from Columbus High School. Following high school she went to Washington DC to work for the Navy Administration, and this is where she met her future husband, Earl, a young U.S. Marine. They were married Dec. 21, 1951.

Delores worked for the UW-Milwaukee School of Nursing as an administrative assistant to the Dean and manager of research. Her career also took her to Kimberly Clark, where she worked until her retirement in 2000.

Delores was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her faith in Christ was very important to her, she enjoyed giving back to the churches she belonged to, especially as the church librarian. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, as well as Gideons International Auxiliary for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Delores is survived by her husband, Earl; sons, Dwight (Gail) Lindgren and Grant Lindgren; daughter, Renee (Philip) Gerskovich; granddaughters, Dana Lindgren, Christina (Jacob) Johnson and Anna (Seth) Mercer; grandson, Michael (Junko ) Gerskovich; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Momoko, Bjorn, Theodore, Nicolas, Isaac, Aya, Lamb and Leif; sister, Carol (John “Jack”) Hepp; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Ann Lindgren; and three siblings.

Funeral services will be held at GRACE EVANGELICAL CHURCH, 6925 E. Buckeye Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A visitation will also take place at Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th Street, Duluth, Minn., from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday, Jan. 8th, 2018. Entombment to follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Minnesota.
