Delivery driver unknowingly accepts fake $100 bill, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A pizza delivery driver unknowingly accepted a fake $100 bill Saturday night during a delivery on Madison’s east side, police said.
The delivery driver took an order to an apartment in the 5000 block of Camden Road around 9:20 p.m., but the resident said they did not order any pizza, according to a release. As the delivery driver was leaving, three teen boys stopped him and said they ordered the pizza.
The delivery driver was given a $100 bill, and the teens left with $80 in change and the pizza, officials said.
When the driver got back to the pizza place, he could clearly see the bill had “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” written on it, but he didn’t see it while he was outside in the dark with the teens, according to the release.
