A DeForest man was sentenced Tuesday for robbing a business on Madison’s south side, according to a state Department of Justice release.

Ryan Coyle, 25, was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison, followed by a three-year term of supervised release, according to the release. Coyle pleaded guilty to the charge March 7.

As part of Coyle’s plea agreement, two additional charges involving robberies of Klinke’s Cleaners were dismissed, officials said. Those robberies happened on Nov. 19 and Nov. 27 of last year.

Coyle was ordered to pay restitution for those robberies as well as the robbery on Oct. 8, which he was sentenced for, according to the release. The judge also considered the two additional robberies when choosing Coyle’s sentence.

In a statement to police, Coyle said he committed the robberies to support his heroin addiction.
