DeForest man charged with 5 counts of receiving child pornography
MADISON, Wis. — A DeForest man was indicted on Wednesday on multiple charges of receiving child pornography last year, according to a news release.
Western District of Wisconsin U.S. Attorney Scott C. Blader’s office said 43-year-old Michael Hinze, of DeForest, is facing five charges of receiving child pornography from Sept. 28 to 30, 2018.
According to Blader’s office, if Hinze is convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison on each of the five counts.
The charges come as the result of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and DeForest Police Department.
