Deda P. Oatsvall
MADISON-Deda P. Oatsvall, age 69, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at University Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1947, in St. Joseph, MI the daughter of Frederick and Alma (Rosenthal) Hardy.
Deda graduated from St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph, MI and had a fascinating career history. She served as a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Texas and then in Hollywood. Upon returning to Michigan she was employed with Gateway, working with special needs individuals. In Madison, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired, and in retirement, volunteered with YWAM Madison. Deda had a wide variety of interests including fishing, cooking shows and anything about Alaska. Her generosity, warm friendship, and hilarious stories enriched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Todd Oatsvall; granddaughters, Juliana Nicole and Tanya Michelle; brothers, Richard Hardy, Jack (Margie) Hardy and Doug Hardy; sister-in-law, Betty Hardy; her aunt, Dorothy Hanes; and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Raymond Menser, Bill Menser, Steven Hardy and John Scott Hardy.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
