Deborah J. Witzke
Deborah J. Witzke, 68, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Deborah was born on March 17, 1946 in Waukesha, daughter of the late John and Lola (Shaw) Horn. She married Ernest Witzke on August 27, 1966 in East Troy.
Deborah worked for 13 years as a teacher in the Jefferson County Jail retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was active with the Autism Society of America.
She enjoyed reading and spending time in her garden. She and her husband loved to travel and hike at many places around the world. She also appreciated teaching her “boys” at the jail.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Ernest of Fort Atkinson; daughters, Kirsten (David) Larson and Jennifer Witzke; grandchildren, Katherine and Teddy Larson; sisters, Brenda (Rodney) Baker and Janette (Jeff) Rolfe and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church until time of service. Memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice or to the Autism Society of America.
