DCSO deputy fires gun while investigating stolen car, MPD investigating
BRISTOL, Wis. — Madison police are investigating after a Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputy fired their gun during a Tuesday evening incident involving a stolen vehicle.
According to an incident report, DCSO deputies were dispatched to the area near Esker Trail around 6:45 p.m. for a report of a suspicious car.
Authorities said officers made contact with an adult driver who was in a vehicle that had been reported stolen from outside of Dane County.
One of the DCSO officers fired their gun while making contact. No one was injured in the incident. Police did not specify if anyone was arrested.
DCSO officials said they requested the Madison Police Department lead the investigation. The Wisconsin Department of Justice and Wisconsin State Patrol are assisting with the investigation.
