Dayne, Zuhde sign letters of intent

Waunakee football players Javian Dayne and Riley Zuhde signed national letters of intent to play for Boston College and Augustana Wednesday afternoon.

Dayne, the son of Badger Heisman Trophy winner, Ron Dayne, rushed for over 4200 yards and 56 touchdowns in his high school career and says he was patient in his recruiting before choosing Boston College.

“I was going to take my time see what happens,” Javian Dayne said. “I wasn’t really too worried my Dad just always told me to be happy and just enjoy the process and I’ll be all good. I’m pretty sure it’s nothing like high school everybody was recruited for a reason so everybody’s bringing their own talent there won’t be too many weaknesses it’s going to be different.”

Zuhde, a wide receiver for the state champion Warriors, heads to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota – a Division Two school.

“I was thinking I really wanted to go Division One I thought that was the only place that could give out scholarships and I really wanted my college paid for and all that,” Zuhde said. “Then I heard about Division Two. and they gave me an offer and it was like- oh, this is possible? and I was like going to take every opportunity I can and so, Division Two really just stuck out to me”
