Day 10: United Nations is back with money
$1.9 million could be yours.. or not
MY DESK-MADISON — So, for some reason, I keep getting these emails telling me I’ve won money from the United Nations. I was curious what’s behind this strategy since the U.N. Security Council hasn’t really agreed on a whole lot over the years, so it’d be somewhat striking if they decided to send little old me $1.9 million.
In fact, I checked their most recent poll numbers from Gallup and found a survey that showed they only had a 35% approval rating in a survey taken in February. Now, granted that’s higher than Congress, but still.
Again, hurricane warning on the red flags associated with this one: no personalization, email address that’s not to an authentic company, there’s no such thing as free money, and more.
Please don’t fall for this.
