David F. “Don” Rothwell age 75, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Verona. He was born in Dodgeville, WI on May 24, 1939 to Roy and Victorine (Sullivan) Rothwell. Dave retired from Millers and Sons grocery store in Verona in 2012 where he worked in the produce department for over 25 years. He was an avid sports fan. He lettered in baseball and basketball at Linden High School. He also played for the Verona Home Talent baseball team in the early 60’s. He enjoyed attending the Verona Cavaliers home talent games whenever he could. One of his favorite activities was rooting for Wisconsin sport teams, especially the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. He enjoyed a good game of cards and was involved in bowling and golf leagues for many years. He was united in marriage to Judie Drury on September 9, 1961 in Mineral Point, WI. Together they had two children; Kevin (Michelle) Rothwell of Bloomington, IL and Kim (Matt) Tosto of Madison, WI.

He is survived by his wife and children as well as six grandchildren; Austin and Jake Rothwell of Bloomington, IL and Nicole, Natalie, Emily and Courtney Tosto of Madison, WI. He is also survived by four brothers; Dick (Karen) Rothwell of Verona, Jack (Dianne) Rothwell of Madison, Eddie (Sylvia) Rothwell of Huntsville, Ala., and Dennis (Mary) Rothwell of Monona; two sisters; Judy Hannon of Madison and Vicki (John) Harrington of Crystal Lake, IL and many nieces andnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Ann Bennett, Marilyn Yearous and Julie Davis; brothers; Robert Rothwell, Tom Rothwell and Doug Rothwell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18th, at ST MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave, Madison. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m until 7:30 pm. on Thursday, July 17th at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Dr, Verona, and again from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church on Friday.
