Darlington man arrested in Illinois on 4th drunken driving charge
GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Wis. — A Darlington man was arrested Sunday night on a drunken driving charge after driving into a ditch and hitting a sign, Lafayette County sheriff’s deputies said.
Duane B. Barr, 66, was driving on County Road W around 9 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn, causing his vehicle to go off the roadway into the ditch and striking a sign, according to a release.
Barr was later located and arrested in Warren, Illinois, by the Warren Police Department.
He was arrested on tentative charges of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to notify police of an accident, failure to keep vehicle under control, hit-and-run adjacent to a highway, reckless driving endangering safety and failure to wear a seat belt.
Barr is also a suspect in a hit-and-run crash on County Road G in Kendall Township, officials said.
