Darlington is vying for the title of Ranger Country USA
DARLINGTON, Wis. — Darlington is vying for the title of Ranger Country USA. Polaris recently rolled out its one millionth Ranger, a side-by-side utility vehicle. To celebrate the milestone, Polaris is searching for “Ranger Country USA.”
Polaris said it was looking for small towns made up of farmers, ranchers, hunters and all-around hard-working Americans. The company said it picked five towns in Nevada, Wyoming, Texas, Arkansas and Wisconsin that most embody the hard-working values of Ranger.
“It’s not a surprise, as Darlington uses Polaris Rangers for emergency management, farming, recreation and fundraising. In fact, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised for local charities through Ranger rides and Ranger giveaways,” Jason King, Darlington police chief, said.
If Darlington wins, the town receives the honor of being crowned Ranger Country USA, donations from Polaris and a concert with country music star Jake Owen.
The town with the most votes wins. Voting ends Dec. 18 at noon and the winner will be announced December 21.
