Darlene M. Messner
Darlene “Dolly” M. Messner, age 85, of Janesville, died on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. She was born in Janesville on Dec. 21, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Watkins) Arneson. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1945, and married Richard Messner on May 15, 1948. Dolly had been employed by Parker Pen and General Motors until 1959. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Ladies of the Elks, and AARC.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Messner; daughter, Debra Edgar of Janesville; son, David Messner of Janesville; granddaughter, Kayla Edgar of Janesville; brother, Alton “Bud” (Lillian) Arneson of Janesville; sister-in-law, Beatrice Hanson of Janesville; many special nieces and nephews. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sherman Arneson, 2 sisters, Hazel Gould and Lila Buehl; and 2 brothers, Gib Hanson and Victor Hanson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. James Melvin officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
