Daniel Lee “Danny” Farrell
OREGON/BROOKLYN-Daniel Lee Farrell, age 24, of Brooklyn, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018. He was born on Nov. 9, 1993, in Portage, the son of Tara (Farrell) Meyer and Roger Leake.
To my only son, Danny Farrell: Addiction is such an extreme path here on earth. It’s hard to know why some souls travel it, but yours did. They say we are all here to learn. What your soul gave to my soul is love and the learning and teaching of unconditional love and I would never take that lesson back. Thank you for choosing me for your mother, it has been an honor. You are an angel now without being blinded by addiction or physical limitations. You are free! You are love!
Danny loved his sister, Abby. Always telling her to stay away from bad situations and to do good in school. He talked about his love for his baby sister to many of his friends. Danny had a gentle soul and he loved his dog, Scout. He was a very hard worker and was so proud of his talents as being a brick layer. He was grateful for receiving this talent from his step-dad, Andy. Andy was so proud of Danny’s hard work and talent. Danny you made him proud.
Danny is survived by his mom, Tara Meyer; his step-father, Andy T. Meyer; his little sister, Abby Meyer; his grandparents, Lee (Maya) Farrell, Bonnie Farrell, Rosemary Leake, Jim and Joan Swinehart and Tom Meyer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Roger E. Leake; cousin, Jovanni Dimaggio; and great-grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St, Oregon, at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
Danny, you are love, you are light, you are free. Danny, you are my sunshine, even now in these grayer times. Danny, you are safe, you are calm. You are my sunshine. Danny you are love!
