Daniel “Danny” J. Sprecher

Daniel “Danny” John Sprecher, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Sun. Apr. 9, 2017. He was born July 16, 1947 to the late Clarence and Argent (Marx) Sprecher. He graduated Sauk Prairie High School; class of 1965. Following high school Dan served in the United States Army serving a year in Vietnam. He returned from service and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Haas on Aug. 3, 1968 at St. Aloysius in Sauk City. Dan and Sharon joined Clarence and Argent and farmed in Black Hawk until the mid 1990’s. Dan then drove milk truck for R.E.M. and Kuhnau Trucking, and later worked at Weaver Auto Parts until he retired.

He loved the outdoors and his woods, riding his 4 wheeler, drives in the country, fishing and hunting, cheering on the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers, garage time with his family and friends, and most of all his time spent with his grandsons. Dan was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk, Plain American Legion, and a past member of the Equity Livestock Board.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon; daughter, Tracey (Steve) Breunig and their children, Dylan, Tyler, and Bryan; 2 brothers, Thomas (Connie) Sprecher of Baraboo, and Gerald (Sarah) Sprecher of Woodbridge, IL; nieces and nephews, Sarah(Dan) Lewison, John (Claudia) Sprecher, Elizabeth Sprecher, Colin Sprecher, Steve Haas, Lynn (Ryan) Reed; special friends, Doug Pape and Jerry Boettcher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Corey on Sept. 27, 1992; his in-laws, Edward and Susan Haas; sister in-law, Sandra Haas; and brother and sister in-law, Stanley (Pat) Haas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thur. April 13, 2017 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wed. April 12 at the church and one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made in Dan’s name to Operation Eagles Wings Sauk Prairie/ Badger Honor Flight.
