Dane County officials look to reduce traffic deaths
MADISON, Wis. — Dane County police are cracking down on driving that has fueled the constant increase in fatal crashes in recent years, looking to prevent circumstances that often lead to crashes.
According to a federal report, 22 percent of crashes come from inattentive driving, while 19 percent come from drivers following too closely. Dane County officials are focusing their efforts in the area between Highway 19 and Highway C-V.
According to a news release, Wisconsin drivers can expect to see a marked increase in law enforcement presence along local highways.
