Dane County Humane Society announces largest Giving Tuesday matching gift
MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Humane Society is doubling donations made on Tuesday up to $30,000, officials announced in a release.
The $30,000 matching gift was made possible by the Berbee-Walsh Foundation, Clay Rehm and Giannina Milani-Rehm, Robert and Rhoda Bartholomew, Yvonne and Vic Gagliano (in memory of Aaron Gagliano) and anonymous friends of DCHS.
The goal is to raise $60,000 for the shelter on Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to encourage people to give back to organizations and causes they support.
“We are so grateful that through the generosity of this group of DCHS donors, gifts from our dedicated supporters will have double the impact,” said Marissa DeGroot, DCHS public relations coordinator. “The funds raised on #GivingTuesday will provide comfort and care to the thousands of companion and wild animals that come to DCHS in need every year.”
DCHS will be sharing stories featuring DCHS alumni throughout the day and accepting donations.
