Dane County elections website goes down, clerk posts results on Facebook

The Dane County clerk’s website, which normally updates as votes are counted, crashed for several hours shortly after polls closed Tuesday night.

County website is having some issues. IT is working on it now. We don’t have any results yet but we will get them up.

Nearly an hour after county clerk Scott McDonnell announced that the site was down, he began posting results onto his Facebook page.

The site went back up shortly after 9:30 p.m. McDonnell told News 3 it was “very frustrating” to have the site go down, and that people were working really hard to get it back up.

McDonnell said he feels bad for the candidates and is unsure why it happened.
