Dane County deputies stop inmate suicide attempt

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County sheriff’s deputies stopped a suicide attempt by an inmate in the Dane County Jail Tuesday, according to a news release.
According to the release, deputies were alerted to a man attempting to strangle himself with a blanket in his cell. Deputies removed the blanket and brought in jail medical staff members to evaluate the inmate. The man never lost consciousness and is currently under precautions to prevent further attempts.
Officials did not release the name of the inmate.
