Deputies now investigating Blue Mounds jogger’s death as homicide
BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — Dane County deputies are now investigating the death of a Blue Mounds man originally thought to be the victim of a hit-and-run Wednesday as a homicide.
An autopsy from the Dane County Medical Examiner revealed that the victim’s death was not due to a crash, but it is instead investigating the incident as a homicide.
Anyone who was in the area of County Highway JG near Bergum Road in the town of Blue Mounds between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Wednesday is asked to call the the Dane County Communications Center non-emergency line at 608-255-2345 or the Dane County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 608-284-6900. Callers can remain anonymous.
“Even somebody that’s calling and saying, ‘Yep, I saw him running here at this time,’ that helps us put together a timeline,” said Elise Schaffer, a spokesperson for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. “Things that may seem insignificant may be significant to us and our investigation.”
