Dane County deputies investigate fatal crash in Springdale
SPRINGDALE, Wis. — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in the town of Springdale on Tuesday.
Authorities responded to a report of a crash with injuries on County Highway PD at the intersection of County Highway J at about 4:45 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 17-year-old girl was driving a Chevy Malibu on CTH PD and “made an evasive move” to avoid hitting a vehicle which was slowing to turn onto CTH J, according to a news release.
Officials said the driver missed the vehicle but entered the westbound lane of CTH PD and crashed into a motorcycle. The 22-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Fitchrona EMS and Mount Horeb Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
