Dane County Airport solar farm expanding to 58 acres
MADISON, Wis. — The solar farm planned at the Dane County Airport is getting a little bigger.
County Executive Joe Parisi and Madison Gas & Electric announced that the solar farm will be 58 acres, instead of 41, on Wednesday.
The farm will consist of 31,000 solar panels that generate 9 megawats of power, and save the county about $137,000 in their first year, according to a release from Dane County Executive’s Office.
Construction for the solar farm will begin in the spring and should be competed by the fall of next year.
