Dane Co. snow mobile trails open for season

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County’s snow mobile trails are now open for the season.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that trails in the northwest, southwest and southeast regions of Dane County opened at noon.
Trails in the north-central and northeast regions are still closed.
Sgt. Eric Stacey from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Marine and Trail Enforcement Bureau said it’s important for snowmobilers to stay on designated trails because the majority of them are on private land.
Riders are encouraged to keep an eye open for uneven terrain and snow-covered icy sections when venturing out.
