Dane Co. Farmers’ Market shifting to Breese Stevens Field to make room for Art Fair on the Square
MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Farmers’ Market is moving to Madison’s near east side this weekend to make space for Art Fair on the Square.
Saturday’s market will be held at Breese Stevens Field from 7 a.m. to noon. The stadium’s concession stand will be open during the market so shoppers can eat and drink while they shop for food and goods from local vendors.
Masks will be required in all indoor facilities inside the stadium, including restrooms. Parking is available at nearby parking garages. The streets surrounding Breese Stevens Field will be reserved for market vendors.
Art Fair on the Square is scheduled for Sept. 25-26. Event organizers said earlier this year that they pushed the event back out of “an abundance of caution.” It usually runs the second full weekend of July.
Last year’s art fair was canceled because of the pandemic, so Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, the group behind the fair, held a virtual version instead.
The farmers’ market will return to the square on Oct. 2.
More information is available on the market’s website.
