Curate your dream space at Brown & Beam
Visit this new Middleton décor store
If you’ve got a couch that’s showing its age or a rug that could use a refresh, head over to Brown & Beam, a new 6,800-square-foot home decor/furniture store in Middleton to get inspired. Owner Lora Brown opened the spacious showroom in November and wants it to be a “shopping destination.”
Brown’s selection of furniture (couches, coffee tables, chairs, bed frames and more), and decor pieces is carefully chosen and–bonus–is affordably priced. “I price things competitively with things you can find online,” she explains. “I want people to shop local. And I want to make sure people can find good quality items here. We stand behind all of our products.”
The wide-open space showcases Brown’s eye for rustic, yet modern design with a special bent. The shop is dotted with clean-lined sofas, a barnwood-look dining table, enviably cool decor items and little curiosities, like old-timey glass apothecary bottles and a monkey lamp. Brown wants shoppers to be able to touch and feel the items and buy furniture on the spot–something that shopping online can’t offer.
“I know when I go shopping I don’t want to wait six weeks,” says Brown. “Here you can find different, unique pieces that help [your] space feel different that you can’t find in a big box [store].”
These studded metal boxes are great for storage–or simply to add a glamorous touch to an office or foyer. $429 (set of three)
Monkey See, Monkey Do
We can’t resist a good monkey lamp that’ll add a cheeky pop to any room. $129
Brown & Beam also has reclaimed decor items, which are pieces that use vintage or reused parts–like this recycled denim area rug. $550
