Culver’s hits milestone with 500 locations
Restaurant chain hopes to open another 35 restaurants this year
PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. — Culver’s announced Monday it hit a milestone for how many locations it has opened.
Officials with the Wisconsin-based chain said with the openings of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Wixom, Mich., it has hit the 500-location mark, according to a release.
“Since both restaurants opened on the same day, both can celebrate helping us reach the 500 mark,” CEO and co-founder Craig Culver said in the release. “On this the year of our 30th anniversary, it’s amazing how far we’ve come from opening our very first restaurant in Sauk City, Wis. I’m so happy for our franchise partners, team members and our guests who have brought us where we are today.”
Culver’s was founded in 1984 by Craig Culver, his wife, Lea, and Craig’s late parents, George and Ruth Culver, according to the release. There are currently nine restaurants owned by the family, and the rest of the 500 locations are owned by independent franchise partners.
In 2013, the chain opened 28 restaurants, and it hopes to add an additional 35 restaurants in 2014, according to the release.
