Criminal investigators to look into apartment fire in Green Lake County
Four families displaced, police said
BERLIN, Wis. — The City of Berlin Police Department said in a release that four families are displaced after a structure fire at the Quarry Street Apartments in Berlin.
The department and the Berlin Fire Department responded to a fire at 125 Quarry Street at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday. According to police, the apartment building was completely engulfed in flames and is considered a total loss.
The families displaced are being helped by the Red Cross, police said.
The State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation will help officials figure out what caused the fire.
In a release, Capt. Kevin Block of the Berlin Police Department said, “Once we are able to investigate the scene thoroughly with the Fire Marshals, we hope to have more answers on the cause of the fire. Berlin is a close knit community and will come together to help these families that suffered loss.”
Several other agencies assisted with the incident.
