Crews rescue person trapped in crashed vehicle
MADISON, Wis. — One person had to be extricated from a vehicle after a rollover crash on Madison’s east side early Saturday.
The Madison Fire Department said crews responded to a report of a crash just off East Washington Avenue at Mendota Street at 2:42 a.m.
According to the report, firefighters arrived to find two cars involved in the wreck. One of the vehicles — a two-door sedan — was upside-down with one person trapped inside.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, and prepared in case the vehicle caught fire. Crews worked to remove the occupant from the vehicle through the passenger door.
Paramedics took the 24-year-old patient to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
